Many Texans enjoy boating. Lakes and rivers are popular leisure-time. But like motor vehicles on the roads, boating accidents often result in serious or fatal injuries. Sadly, a recent accident on Lake Travis left one person dead and injured five others.

The accident happened on a Sunday afternoon. A boat was traveling near Point Venture when it collided with a jet ski. According to emergency officials who responded to the accident, one person received CPR on the scene, but rescuers were not able to revive the victim.
Another individual suffered serious injuries and was taken by boat to an ambulance waiting on shore to be rushed to a nearby hospital. The other four injured victims were taken to local hospitals with injuries not considered life-threatening. Officials will continue to investigate the accident to try to determine what caused the collision.
