Our Story
The story of Gamez Law Firm began many years ago on the west side of San Antonio, where our founding attorney was born and raised. Throughout his life, he has been passionate about helping his neighbors and friends.
The Early Years
Joe A. Gamez was salutatorian and student council president of his class at Sidney Lanier High School. He is still a dedicated Voks fan. It was his time at Sidney Lanier that led him to consider studying law. Many judges, politicians and lawyers have come from
“The Pride of the West Side.” He wanted to fight for justice, too.
A Longstanding Focus On Justice
Mr. Gamez went on to attend The University of Texas at Austin and then to study law at St. Mary’s University here in San Antonio. He then went on to serve as the Brooks County attorney in South Texas. Shortly after, he moved back to San Antonio where he ran for state representative in his home district and won.
Opening Gamez Law Firm
In 1973, Mr. Gamez opened the doors of Gamez Law Firm as a way to give back to the community that had given so much to him. He focused on general litigation, including personal injury.
Finding Common Ground With Clients
Several years ago, Mr. Gamez’s wife and daughter were involved in a terrible car accident. After the accident, the Gamez family went through the process of trying to file a claim with the insurance company. While our firm has always been about advocating for people in their time of need, this experience gave Mr. Gamez firsthand knowledge of what his clients are facing and shaped the way we handle our cases.
A Family Affair
Like his father, Joseph B. Gamez has a passion for helping those in need. After attending Texas Tech University, he joined Gamez Law Firm as firm manager. He has played an integral role in developing his father’s practice into what it is today.
