Motor vehicle accidents can happen at any time on Texas roadways. Sometimes these accidents are unavoidable, while other times the crash was entirely preventable had drivers been following the rules of the road. Sadly, negligent drivers often cause accidents that injure or kill others. A recent crash in Harris County killed one person and left two others injured. Investigators believe the crash happened due to negligent driving.
Crash details
The four-vehicle crash occurred just before midnight on a Friday near Moonshine Hill Road in Harris County. For unknown reasons, four vehicles collided on FM 1960. Two elderly people from one of the vehicles were taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for serious, but not likely to be fatal, injuries. Another person was killed in the crash.
An investigation is ongoing, and police have not released many details about what happened in the moments leading up to the crash. They did however say that speeding and reckless driving likely contributed to the accident. Charges may be filed later if they determine driver negligence caused the accident.
Accident victims may have legal recourse
Going through the aftermath of a serious motor vehicle accident can be overwhelming for an injured victim. Not only does one have to deal with the physical pain and suffering associated with the injuries, but often may suffer financially as well. Fortunately, accident victims have legal rights that provide protection when one suffers due to the negligence of another driver. Victims can benefit from speaking with a Texas attorney that is knowledgeable of personal injury law to understand their options.
