There are always risks to those driving on Texas roads. Anytime someone gets onto the road, they should use caution and try to avoid dangerous situations. But this isn’t always possible when other drivers aren’t following the laws and are driving unsafely. A recent accident involving an underage driver led to the death of another on the road.
A tragic accident
According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, a vehicle was leaving a fast-food restaurant when it was struck by a vehicle driven by a 17-yeard old. The driver of the other vehicle was then hit by another vehicle after traveling across three lanes of traffic due to the impact. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The teen and two teenage passengers were also injured in the accident and were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The underage driver was charged with DWI and authorities also believe speed contributed to the accident. Witnesses claim to have noticed the erratic driving of the teenager before the accident. Investigators have access to surveillance footage from the fast-food restaurant, which may shed more light on exactly what happened.
