A teenager was killed in a tragic motorcycle wreck in Brazos County. Another individual suffered injuries in the Texas crash. The motor vehicle accident took place on a recent Thursday evening.
Events leading up to the motorcycle crash
The motorcycle accident occurred at about 4:30 p.m. According to authorities, a car collided with a motorcycle on South Texas Avenue. An 18-year-old male was reportedly driving the motorcycle at the time of the crash.
First responders rushed the biker to a medical center, where he was later pronounced dead. The driver of the car was also transported to a medical center with injuries. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
Legal recourse available following the accident
Police may gather evidence through their investigation that the car driver caused the recent motorcycle crash due to distracted driving, such as texting, or speeding, for instance. In this situation, the surviving loved ones of the motorcyclist may opt to file a wrongful death claim against the car driver, seeking the reimbursement of monetary damages sustained in the Texas car accident. Once liability has been formally established, based upon a showing of negligence, claims for financial damages will be adjudicated. A successfully presented claim may result in an award of financial damages to cover the motorcyclist’s funeral costs, hospital bills and other documented losses. No amount of money can undo the events that led to the fatal accident, but a damage award may help the motorcyclist’s grieving loved ones to move forward from the tragedy.
