Most motorcyclists are aware of the need to use extra caution when navigating Texas roadways. Motorcyclists are often more vulnerable to being involved in serious accidents when compared to other vehicles. Even the most cautious driver can be involved in a motorcycle accident when others on the road are negligent. Sadly, these crashes often leave the motorcycle driver seriously injured, and in some crashes the injuries are fatal.
The suspect fled the scene
A motorcyclist was recently forced off the road in a morning crash on U.S. 287 in Rhome. According to a witness, the motorcycle driver was run off the road by a pickup pulling a trailer. The motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital where he passed away from his injuries. Authorities believe that road rage may have been a contributing factor in the accident.
The witness remained at the scene of the crash and was able to describe the suspect’s vehicle. Police hope to find the pickup driver and are urging the public to contact them with any information. When and if the truck driver is found, he may face charges related to his role in the fatal crash.
Motorcycle accidents are often fatal
When other drivers aren’t cautious, especially in cases of road rage, motorcyclists are in danger of being involved in a serious accident. When a motorcyclist dies in an accident due to negligence, the victim’s family has the legal right to take action against the person at fault. A successful wrongful death lawsuit can help Texas families obtain financial relief after the loss of a loved one in an accident.
