Driving on Texas roads is like driving anywhere else in the country. One must be cautious and always be on alert for potential hazards. But sometimes even the most conscientious drivers can be in an accident, especially when they encounter someone who is driving while intoxicated. Drunk drivers can cause serious accidents and many times the results are fatal. One such accident that happened recently in Robinson left two dead and another injured.
A serious 2-vehicle accident
This crash happened on a Sunday afternoon. A 27-year-old man was attempting to merge onto Loop 340. He crashed into a large Chevrolet SUV that was pulling a trailer. The collision caused the SUV and trailer to flip over.
Upon impact, the driver of the Chevrolet was partially ejected from the vehicle and the two passengers were also ejected. The SUV driver was taken to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. One of the passengers was pronounced dead at the scene. The other was injured but is expected to recover. The driver that hit the SUV is now facing intoxicated manslaughter charges.
The aftermath of a death caused by a drunk driver
Intoxicated drivers often speed, swerve into oncoming traffic, and generally drive erratically, which leads to many accidents. These accidents are often fatal, which leaves loved ones behind to try to make sense of the situation. The family members are also often left with many expenses related to the death of their loved one.
