Events leading up to the crash
The tragic collision occurred at about 6 p.m. According to authorities, a 56-year-old woman was driving a car north on the highway. Meanwhile, a 53-year-old woman was driving a second car south on the highway.
All of a sudden, the first car reportedly entered the opposite lane. Police said the two cars then crashed into each other head-on. The woman who was driving the first automobile passed way in the collision. Meanwhile, the second car’s driver suffered injuries in the crash and was taken to a medical center for treatment. Authorities continued to investigate the crash.
Seeking monetary damages
The woman who was injured in the crash may opt to file a personal injury claim, seeking the reimbursement of monetary damages. Even though the woman who allegedly caused the Texas accident ended up dying in the crash, the injured woman may still sue the deceased woman’s estate. Likewise, the injured woman may sue anyone else with an ownership in the car that crashed into her. If she is successful in civil court, she may be awarded financial damages to cover her hospital bills, the loss of wages and other expenses stemming from the accident. No amount of money can undo the events leading to the accident, but it may help the injured woman to more easily move forward from the ordeal.
