A man has sadly lost his life in a tragic motor vehicle accident in Robertson County. Two other individuals suffered injuries in the wreck. The accident took place along Texas 6 on a recent Saturday night.
Events leading up to the crash
The tragic collision occurred at about 10:20 p.m. Police said a truck tried to cross the highway to another road. All of a sudden, a sport utility vehicle reportedly struck the truck. The 67-year-old truck passenger passed away at the crash scene.
According to authorities, the truck driver survived the crash but suffered serious injuries and was therefore transported to a medical center. The sport utility vehicle’s passenger and driver also suffered serious injuries and were therefore taken to the same hospital. Police continued to investigate the collision.
Pursuing justice and monetary damages
Texas police might learn through their investigation that the now-deceased truck driver caused the crash due to negligent driving, such as speeding. In this case, the three injured parties may opt to file personal injury claims against the truck driver’s estate and anyone else with an ownership interest in the truck. Meanwhile, if the sport utility vehicle driver is found to have been at fault in the crash, the two injured passengers may file personal injury claims against this driver, and this driver may also face a wrongful death claim filed by the family of the deceased truck driver. Successfully litigated claims may result in monetary damages for covering hospital expenses and burial costs tied to the wreck. Damages may also help with covering the loss of wages if the injured parties have to miss work for extended periods of time due to their accident-related injuries.
