A man has sadly lost his life in an unfortunate car crash in Texas. In addition, a second individual suffered injuries in the collision. Sometimes, these types of car collisions take place due to negligent driving, which is grounds for litigation.
How the accident happened
The recent crash took place at about 11:06 p.m. According to authorities, a 36-year-old man was turning a car onto United States Highway 87 North. All of a sudden, he reportedly turned around and entered the path of a hatchback.
Police said the hatchback ended up hitting the car. The driver of the car was pronounced deceased at the crash scene. Meanwhile, the hatchback driver suffered injuries that were not deemed incapacitating and was therefore taken to a medical center for treatment. Authorities reported that, at the time of the accident, the weather was cloudy/clear, and the roads were dry.
Seeking help and support after these situations
The injured driver may choose to file a personal injury claim, seeking the reimbursement of the monetary damages sustained in the collision. Even though the man who allegedly caused the tragic accident died in it, both his estate and anyone else with an ownership interest in the motor vehicle may be sued. Liability must be established in a Texas civil court before any claim for monetary damages will be determined. If the plaintiff is successful in court, the plaintiff may receive financial damages to cover the hospital bill and other losses that the accident caused, such as the loss of wages if the injuries kept him or her from returning to work for a time.
