Are you driving on one of the 10 most dangerous roads in Texas?

On Behalf of | Nov 5, 2021 | Car Accidents |

A car crash is a scary experience that can result in serious injuries. Unfortunately, the possibility of getting into a crash always exists, even if you are a responsible driver. However, you can maximize protection for you and your family by knowing which roads are the most dangerous in Texas and avoiding them whenever possible.

The need for protection

In 2020, more than 3,800 people died in car crashes in Texas.  Another 14,656 people had serious injuries from this type of accident. Either death or a serious injury is something you’d want to avoid, and one way to do this is by obeying traffic laws. However, being a responsible driver does not ensure that another person won’t hit your car.

Roads to avoid

You cannot control what others do, and that leaves the possibility of an accident open. Still, you can reduce your chances of getting into an accident even more by avoiding the roads that have had the most crashes in the past years. Some of the most dangerous roads in Texas are:

  • Stemmons freeway (I-35 E), Dallas
  • Martin D Love freeway, Dallas
  • Tomball parkway (TX-249), Houston
  • I-35, Austin
  • Texas 12 Loop, Dallas
  • I-45, Houston
  • Lyndon B Johnson freeway, Mesquite and Garland
  • TX 183- Irving, Forth Worth and Euless
  • I-20, Forth Worth, Forest Hill and Kennedale
  • I-45, Houston

To avoid unwanted accidents, you must avoid these roads whenever possible. Try to think of another route you can take if you are going somewhere that requires you to take these dangerous roads.

Safety for you and your family

Car accidents are unpredictable, but you can reduce your chances of getting into one by being a responsible driver and avoiding the most dangerous roads. However, someone negligent could still hit your car. You must know that if that happens, you’d have the right to ask the driver at fault to compensate you for your medical expenses, lost wages and your pain and suffering. You don’t deserve to pay for another’s mistake, and you can fight for compensation if you are ever a crash victim.
