A tragic automobile crash has sadly claimed a Texas woman’s life. The early-morning accident also led to multiple injuries. Sometimes, driver negligence causes these types of crashes, in which case, the careless driver responsible for the crash may be held liable for any injuries or deaths resulting from it.
Events leading up to the accident
The crash occurred at around 6:12 a.m. on a recent Monday. According to authorities, a 17-year-old teenage boy was driving east along U.S. Highway 175 while a 43-year-old woman was driving a car west along the highway. The teenage boy then reportedly entered the woman’s lane and hit her car head on.
The teenage boy suffered injuries in the crash and was therefore taken to a medical center, where his condition was deemed stable. The woman driving the car was also transported to a hospital, where her condition was considered to be serious. One of the woman’s female passengers, 68, also suffered serious injuries. However, another female passenger, also 68, was pronounced dead at the crash scene.
Legal recourse is possible following these unfortunate incidents
The injured car driver and her injured passengers may choose to file personal injury claims against the teenage boy who reportedly caused the accident. Likewise, the family members of the woman who died in the crash may opt to file a wrongful death claim against him, seeking the reimbursement of monetary damages. If the plaintiffs can establish liability by showing that the man’s negligence caused the tragic accident, they may receive damages to cover burial costs, hospital bills and other losses associated with the crash.
